What Is SEO?
SEO is the practice of attracting traffic, views, and engagement through an organic search engine like Google or Bing.
Most professional photographers are looking to take advantage of all the possibilities of SEO and strive to get their images seen by as many viewers as possible.
This article will show how to use Photoshop in SEO strategy by adding metadata to your images.
Why Add Metadata?
Adding metadata is an important part of any Search Engine Optimization strategy and could mean the difference between your photos being seen or not being seen.
How This Is Done?
With so many websites, social media networks, and apps to upload to, it's important to fully edit a photo just once, BEFORE you begin uploading. This includes TITLES, TAGS & KEYWORDS.
Edit all of your photos with SEO in mind. It’s worth it!
All of this editing, uploading and keywording can be time-consuming! A few simple tricks can save you time, streamline your editing process, and get you noticed.
Tip #1 - Use A Keyword / Hashtag Generator
Instead of trying to come up with ten, twenty or fifty keywords on your own. Use a generator to populate a list of words that are trending with the subject of your image. These are called keyword or hashtag generators. There are MANY to choose from.
Tip # 2 - Use The "File Info" Tab In Adobe Photoshop
Instead of repeating the process of adding titles, hashtags and keywords to each photo on every site or app you upload to, use Photoshop and only go through this process one time...
-> Open The Image & Choose...
-> File Info
From here, you can edit the title, caption, date, location, keywords, model, copyright & MUCH MORE!
TIp #3 - This Information Travels!
All of this information is now saved (embedded) in the image. It travels over to every site automatically when you upload your photograph. Saving you a whole lot of work and time.
Use SEO to let everyone know what you're up to as a photographer!
